Dana has extensive experience applying Radius Yoga Conditioning sport specifically in professional sports through her work with teams and athletes in MLB, the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS. She also works with golfers and conducts golf conditioning workshops at pro venues, including the Tournament Players Club (TPC). One of the major benefits of sport-specific Radius Yoga Conditioning is the correction of imbalances brought on by the sport’s particular movements. The compensation of one area of the body weakens another, so creating balance reduces injury. But that’s not all. Better balance and a strong core equates to stability, creating a foundation for transferring strength and flexibility into even greater force and power for the movements demanded by the sport. And don’t forget the mental game—every sport has one. That’s why Radius Yoga Conditioning trains athletes to link body, mind and breath in a way that heightens awareness and clarity to effectively avoid mental stress and hone their focus on the playing field. Additionally, strengthening the mind and body connection enhances neuromuscular efficiency, which increases body responsiveness, control, and accuracy of movement.

As a personal trainer and avid sports fan, Dana Edison was intrigued by her favorite athletes’ fitness regimens. She discovered that professional athletes who incorporated yoga into their training reported extremely favorable results, including enhanced performance, injury reduction, tensile strength, greater muscle endurance, and improved range of motion. Unfortunately, she also found that some athletes held misconceptions involving pretzel-like flexibility and mysticism. To counter this, Dana committed to offering yoga as an accessible athletic cross-training tool. By tailoring programs not only to the specifications of each sport but also to each individual player’s body and the physical and mental demands of their career, her athlete clients receive optimum benefits.
